Visit of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Mexico, 18-20 May 2019

Following his visit to the Republic of Cuba, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Mexico, on 18-20 May 2019.

On 19 May 2019 Minister Çavuşoğlu laid a wreath at the Atatürk’s Monument.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that on the 100th Anniversary of our National Struggle, they celebrated the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk and Youth and Sports Day with pride and enthusiasm together with the Turkish citizens in Mexico.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Turkish citizens in Mexico.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we were proud of the success of our citizens abroad.

On 20 May 2019 Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the conference organized by COMEXI, one of Mexico’s most important think tanks.

At the conference Minister Çavuşoğlu shared Turkey’s enterprising and humanitarian foreign policy.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Marti Batres Guadarrama, President of the Senate of Mexico.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we attached importance to parliamentarian diplomacy’s contributions to bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation with our strategic partner Mexico.

Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard of Mexico.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that Turkey-Mexico had strong cooperation in UN, G20, OECD and MIKTA and that our trade volume reached 1.2 billion Dollars with a 5-fold increase in the past 15 years.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that our relations would further strengthen with Turkish Airlines’ direct flights to start in August 2019 and high level visits.
