Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Erdoğan during his visit to Japan, 27 June-1 July 2019

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Erdoğan who paid an official visit to Japan on 27 June-1 July 2019, to attend the G-20 Summit and hold bilateral meetings.

At the G-20 Summit, President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of open and fair trade, employment promotion, multilateralism in international relations, fight against irregular migration and terrorism.

President Erdoğan called on other leaders to take more responsibility.

On 30 June 2019 President Erdoğan inaugurated the Ara Güler exhibition with Her Highness Princesses Akiko in Kyoto within the framework of the Turkish Cultural Year in Japan.

President Erdoğan also visited ‘the Tulip Tradition in the Ottaman Empire’ exhibition at the Kyoto National Museum of Modern Art.

On the same day, President Erdoğan met in Nagoya with Turkish citizens living in Japan.

On 1 July 2019 President Erdoğan met with business people at a meeting organized by the Japan Business Federation.

On the same day, President met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan.

At the meeting, it was stated that we were working to sign the Economic Partnership Agreement with Japan as soon as possible. Our desire to develop our economic relations in line with our excellent political relations was also emphasized.
