On 6 January 2022, Minister Çavuşoğlu had a meeting with Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi of Japan via video conference. During the meeting, our bilateral relations and common areas of cooperation were discussed. Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that we were determined to take our strategic partnership to the next level in line with our historical friendship ties.

Later, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with the family of the late Dr. Sadık Ahmet, tireless defender of the rights of the Turkish Minority in Western Thrace. Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined that we would continue to cherish the memory of Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who, despite all pressures, did not give up on the rights and legal struggle of Western Thrace Turks.
