Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had a meeting in Ankara with Catherine Colonna, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France on 5 September 2022.

During the meeting, our bilateral relations and the regional developments, particularly Ukraine were discussed. Later a joint press conference was held.

Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined the problems of the Turkish and Muslim community in France and the delays in issuing visas to our citizens. He also emphasised that the fact that the diverging opinions of our countries should not be hurdle in working together.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with the leader of the Crimean Tatars, Mustafa Abdulcemil Kırımoğlu and the First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzheppar of Ukraine.

Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined that Türkiye will continue to support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the rights of the Crimean Tatars.
