Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, and Defense Didier Reynders of Belgium on 23 April 2019.

At the joint press conference held following the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that fight against terrorism, Council of Europe, NATO and EU accession process are important issues in Turkey-Belgium relations.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also emphasized that modernization of Customs Union and diversification of products would increase Turkey-Belgium trade volume that exceeded $7.5 billion in 2018.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Ambassador Pakeer Mohideen Amza of Sri Lanka. Minister Çavuşoğlu conveyed once again condolences through Ambassador Amza to the Sri Lankan government and people for the heinous terrorist attacks perpetrated last Sunday.
