Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu paid a visit to the U.S. to accompany President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and to have bilateral meetings.

In New York, Minister Çavuşoğlu had his first meeting with TRNC President Ersin Tatar and Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, and underlined that we would always support TRNC.

On 20 September 2022, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and later accompanied President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu held respective meetings with Foreign Minister Ranko Krivokapic of Montenegro, Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov of Bulgaria, Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishanka of India, Alliance of Civilizations High Representative Miguel Moratinos, Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares of Spain and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock of Germany.

On 21 September 2022, Minister Çavuşoğlu co-chaired the 12th Ministerial Meeting of UN Group of Friends of Mediation at the Turkish House with Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto of Finland.

Then, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the Meeting of the Global Counterterrorism Forum and emphasized Türkiye’s strong support in the fight against terrorism.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu held Astana Process Foreign Ministers Meeting and noted that we continue our diplomatic efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

On 22 September 2022, Minister Çavuşoğlu hosted MIKTA+ Foregin Ministers Meeting with the participation of Poland at the Turkish House.

Then, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended respectively the High-level Side Event on the Rohingya Crisis and Annual Coordination Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Ministerial Meeting of The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Minister Çavuşoğlu had bilateral meetings as well with his collegues Penny Wong of Australia, Zbigniew Rau of Poland, Saifuddin Abdullah of Malaysia, Urmas Reinsalu of Estonia, Simon Coveney of Ireland, Nicu Popescu of Moldova, Abdallah BouHabib of Lebanon, Morissanda Kouyate of Guinea, Demeke Hasen of Ethiopia and Ramtane Lamamra of Algeria.

On 23 September 2022, Minister Çavuşoğlu participated in the Informal Foreign Ministerial Meeting of South East European Cooperation Process, as well as the Council on Foreign Relations.

Minister Çavuşoğlu held bilateral meetings on his last day in New York with Csaba Körösi President of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and Foreign Ministers Vladimir Makei of Belarus, Ilia Darchiasvili of Georgia, Carlos França of Brazil, Bujar Osmani of North Macedonia, Denis Moncada Colindres of Nicaragua, Carlos Faria of Venezuela, Sirojiddin Muhriddin of Tajikistan, Ann Linde of Sweden and Antonia Urrejola of Chile.

Finally, on September 24, 2022, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Turkish citizens in Los Angeles and stated that we always stand by their side.
