Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu paid a visit to Serbia on 2 September 2022 to participate in the Open Balkan Initiative Summit.

Minister Çavuşoğlu had a meeting first in Belgrade with Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic of Montenegro.

Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined that stability in the Balkans was our common priority. During the meeting our bilateral economic relations were also discussed.

Minister Çavuşoğlu addressed the opening session of the Open Balkan Initiative Summit and emphasized the importance of Balkan-owned cooperation for peace and stability.

On the margins of the Summit, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó of Hungary. They discussed our economic relations, and the latest developments in Ukraine and NATO enlargement.

Minister Çavuşoğlu held his final bilateral in Belgrade with his Serbian collegue Nikola Selaković.

During the meeting, our bilateral and regional issues and particularly President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s upcoming visit to Serbia were discussed.
