President Erdoğan paid an official visit to Belarus on 11 November 2016. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also accompanied President Erdoğan during the visit. In the meetings, bilateral relations between Turkey and Belarus as well as regional issues were discussed. Furthermore, various bilateral agreements were signed.

On the other hand, addressing the Turkey-Belarus Business Forum, President Erdoğan underlined the goal of increasing bilateral trade volume to 1 billion USD.

President Erdoğan also attended the opening ceremony of the Minsk Mosque.
