10th Ambassadors Conference held under the theme “Enterprising and Humanitarian Foreign Policy in the Presidential System of Government” officially commenced on 13 August 2018

10th Ambassadors Conference is being held on 12-17 August 2018 in Ankara and Konya under the theme “Enterprising and Humanitarian Foreign Policy in the Presidential System of Government.”

On 12 August Sunday, former Undersecretary of the Ministry, Ambassador Ümit Yalçın and Vice Ministers Sedat Önal, Faruk Kaymakcı and Yavuz Selim Kıran chaired the Ministry’s working session of the Conference.

The Ambassadors visited Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and participated to the regional sessions on the same day.

On the morning of 13 August, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and the Ambassadors paid a visit to the Martyrs’ Cemetery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Atatürk’s Mausoleum.

Minister Çavuşoğlu presented Distinguished Service Award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey to Ambassador Bilal Şimşir, Ambassador Ertuğrul Apakan and Ambassador Murat Lütem on behalf of his father, the late Ambassador Ömer Engin Lütem.

After the formal opening session, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Minister Çavuşoğlu and the Ambassadors.

At the afternoon session of the Conference, Miroslav Lajcak, President of the 72nd Session of United Nations General Assembly and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia adressed the Ambassadors.

Today’s last speaker was Mr. Abdülhamit Gül, Minister of Justice.
