Turkey strongly condemns the abhorrent terror attack that took place today (5 June 2009) during Friday prayers in a mosque in Upper Dir region of North Western Frontier Province in brotherly Pakistan, which, according to initial data, left forty dead and many injured.

Considering terrorism as a common enemy of humankind, Turkey , as always, stands in solidarity with the Pakistan people. Turkey will resolutely continue to support the people of brotherly Pakistan to ensure their well-being and security.

We extend our condolences to the brotherly people and the Government of Pakistan, and wish speedy recovery to those who were injured.
