His Excellency Mr. Ali Babacan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by a delegation, will pay a one day visit to Armenia in order to participate in the 20th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) to be held in Yerevan on 16 April 2009.
BSEC was established on 25 June 1992 by the İstanbul Summit Declaration, upon the initiative of Turkey, and became a full-fledged organization with the entry into force of its Charter in 1999. BSEC Secretariat is located in İstanbul.
BSEC is the most inclusive, full-fledged economic organization in a region where a number of conflicts persist. Turkey attaches importance to the Organization and provides active participation in its activities.
