Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Babacan will attend the NATO Foreign Ministers meeting on 6 March 2008 in Brussels.

This meeting will be the last gathering before the NATO Summit at Heads of State and Government level to be convened on 2 - 4 April in Bucharest. Preparations for the Bucharest Summit, and in this context the decision to be taken in regard to NATO expansion will be the most important agenda item of the meeting. Also envisaged to be taken up at the meeting are the Alliance`s approach to the Balkans, NATO-EU cooperation, Afganistan and NATO operations in Kosovo.

On 7 March the Minister will inaugurate the “Meeting of Consul Generals in Western European Countries” which will be held in Brussels with the participation of 28 Turkish Consul Generals in Western Europe.
