We observe with regret and concern that terrorist acts are on the rise again in Iraq after the provincial elections.

In this context, we have learned with deep sorrow that a suicide attack in southern Baghdad killed yesterday (13 February) about 40 people and wounded 80 others who were on their way to a religious ceremony.

We condemn this terrorist attack and we sincerely hope that Iraq will achieve peace and tranquility as soon as possible.
