No: 378, 04 December 2014, Press Release Regarding Election of Ambassador Mithat Rende as Chairman of the OECD’s Executive Committee

Ambassador Mithat Rende, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Turkey to the OECD, was elected as Chairman of the OECD’s Executive Committee at the voting that took place by participation of OECD member states.

Election of Ambassador Mithat Rende to this position signifies the important role of Turkey within OECD. In this framework, Turkey will continue to actively contribute to the works and activities of OECD.

Executive Committee is one of three Standing Committees under the Council that is the highest decision-making body of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) of which Turkey is one of the founding members. Executive Committee, which is at the most important position among the Standing Committees, plays a key role in the carrying out of OECD’s agenda and works, mainly preparation for and follow-up to the meetings held by the Organization at the level of Ministers.
