Turkey’s nominee, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Aksar, Dean of Maltepe University
Department of Law, was elected on 21 December 2018 at the elections held in
the United Nations General Assembly for the two vacant positions in the
roster of judges of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal
Tribunals.
International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals was established by
the decision of the United Nations Security Council in order to complete
the works started by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former
Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
