No: 212, 10 August 2018, Press Release Regarding the 10. Ambassadors Conference

The Ambassadors Conference, organized annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2008, will be held this year from 12 to 17 August 2018 in Ankara and Konya with the participation of Turkey’s Ambassadors serving at home and abroad.

The Xth Ambassadors Conference will convene under the theme “Enterprising and Humanitarian Foreign Policy in the Presidential System of Government.”

The Xth Ambassadors Conference provides a platform to receive the instructions of H.E. the President, review the recent developments and trends of relevance to Turkish foreign policy, discuss current challenges and opportunities and evaluate our priorities for the upcoming period.

The Ambassadors will be received by H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey and H.E. Mr. Binali Yıldırım, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Esteemed members of the Cabinet will also address the Ambassadors regarding their respective areas.

The Xth Ambassadors Conference will also include presentations on the new Presidential System of Government as well as on structural changes within the state organization with the aim of briefing our Ambassadors.

This year, H.E. Mr. Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajcak, President of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia and H.E. Mr. Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan will participate in the Conference.

In addition to the functioning of state mechanisms renewed by the Presidential System of Government, the Conference will also focus on Turkey’s economic and security agendas.

In the last day of the Conference, Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and the Ambassadors will visit the city of Konya.

The Ambassadors Conference provides an opportunity to facilitate coordination and evaluate how Turkey’s enterprising and humanitarian foreign policy can be implemented most effectively to support peace, prosperity and stability in Turkey’s neighborhood and beyond.
