We have learned with great sorrow that more than 30 people lost their lives and more than 100 people were wounded during clashes between protesters who gathered in front of the Libyan 1st Armored Division Headquarters and members of that Division in the city of Benghazi in Libya on 8 June 2013.

We wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in these sad events and a speedy recovery to the injured.

It is of crucial importance for the future of Libya and the region that problems on the path of democratization in the country are solved without resort to violence and within the framework of common sense and dialogue.

Turkey will continue to provide all kinds of support to Libya for maintaining its stability and security.
