Since 2003, the United Nations Public Service Award (UNPSA) has been given to achievements of public service institutions that lead to a more effective public administration. This year’s Award Ceremony will be held in New York on 25 June 2012.
The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Turkey has been nominated for the UNPSA and awarded the first prize for the initiative “SMS Information System” in the category of “Preventing and Combating Corruption in the Public Services” and the second prize for the initiative “National Judiciary Informatics System” (UYAP) in the category of “Advancing Knowledge Management in Government”. Turkey receives this award for the first time.
The President of the UN General Assembly, the Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs and high-level government officials are expected to participate in the Award Ceremony to be held on 25 June 2012, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Public Service Day. Furthermore, workshops will be held on 26-27 June 2012 to discuss various aspects of public administration.
The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Turkey will attend the UNPSA Ceremony with a high-level delegation.
