No: 15, 14 January 2015, Press Release Regarding the Establishment of the OSCE Panel of Eminent Persons on European Security

“A Panel of Eminent Persons” has been established within the Organization of Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in order to assist developing new ideas with regards to the future of the security of Europe.

The panel will be composed of fifteen members including former Presidents and Foreign Ministers and its chairmanship will be carried out by Ambassador Wolfgang Ishcinger from Germany. Upon the invitation of Switzerland, Chairman of OSCE in 2014 and Serbia, the Chairman-in Office, Ambassador (Ret.) Tahsin Burcuoğlu will represent Turkey in the aforementioned Panel.

Turkey maintains its contribution to the security of Europe, and in this context to the initiatives and efforts towards ensuring the security and stability in OSCE geography.
