No: 156, 28 May 2013, Press Release Regarding the Bomb Attacks Perpetrated in Baghdad.

We have learned with great sadness that more than 60 people killed and some 200 people were injured in bomb attacks perpetrated in various parts of the Iraqi capital Baghdad on May 27, 2013.

We strongly condemn the terrorist attacks aiming at igniting a sectarian conflict and which have been gradually escalating in the last days. We wish God’s mercy on our Iraqi brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the attacks, present our condolences to their families and hope for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Confirming once more on this sad occasion that we are in full solidarity with our Iraqi brothers and sisters in the fight against terrorism, we call upon the Iraqi Government to take rapidly the necessary steps in order to ensure internal peace, stability and serenity in the country and upon all Iraqi leaders to make greater efforts to this end.
