No: 156, 17 May 2015, Press Release Regarding the Participation of H.E.Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in the 125th Meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe

H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey will visit Brussels in order to participate in the 125th Meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe which will be hosted by Term President Belgium on 18-19 May 2015.
 
Convening once a year, the Committee of Ministers is the main decision making body of the Council of Europe.

Accepting human rights, the rule of law and pluralistic democracy as its fundamental values, the Council of Europe has become the widest democracy forum in European geography today.

Being one of its founding members, Turkey has been among the prominent countries providing active contribution to the development of principles and objectives of the Council of Europe and strengthening its role in European architecture.

The main theme of the Meeting of the Committee of Ministers will be “A Shared Responsibility for Democratic Security in Europe”.

The handover ceremony of Term Presidency of the Committee of Ministers from Belgium to Bosnia and Herzegovina will also take place during the meeting.
