No: 155, 05 June 2012, Press Release Regarding the First Trilateral Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia

The First Trilateral Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia will be held on 8 June 2012 in Trabzon.

During the meeting, the parties will exchange views on the possibilities of developing bilateral and regional cooperation on the issues of common interest to all three countries.

H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, will have bilateral meetings with H.E. Mr. Elmar Memmedyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, and H.E. Mr. Grigol Vashadze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia on the margin of the trilateral meeting,

We believe that the trilateral dialogue mechanism that was established among the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia, with the initiative of Turkey and based on the regional ownership idea will contribute to the development of a sense of cooperation in all fields on the basis of mutual benefit by discussing the bilateral and the regional issues around a table, and to the strengthening of regional stability and security through creating an environment where the sustainable regional cooperation will prevail, of which Turkey sincerely wishes to see take root in the South Caucasus.
