No: 111, 10 April 2014, Press Release Regarding the Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Eighth Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative (NPDI)

The Eighth Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initative (NPDI), which has twelve member countries from different regions of the world, will be held in Hiroshima on 11-12 April 2014. Turkey, as one of the founding members of the Initiative, will be represented at meeting by a delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Before the meeting, on 11 April, H.E. Mr. Davutoğlu will pay his memorial service to the Ertuğrul Monument in Kushimoto, where rest the sailors who lost their lives in the sinking of Ertuğrul Frigate in 1890. He will also visit both the Oshima Primary School which takes care of the Monument and the Turkish Museum, and meet with Mr. Katsumasa Tashima, Mayor of Kushimoto.

In the framework of the NPDI Meeting, on 13 April 2014, H.E. Mr. Davutoğlu will meet with his Japanese counterpart H.E.Mr. Fumio Kishida to discuss the issues on the agenda of our bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments.
