No: 256, 11 October 2016, Press Release Regarding the Participation of the Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in the Fifth Turkey-GCC High Level Strategic Dialogue Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs

H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 12-13 October 2016 to participate in the Fifth Meeting of Turkey-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) High Level Strategic Dialogue of Ministers of Foreign Ministers.

Turkey-GCC High Level Strategic Dialogue Mechanism was established by a declaration adopted at the Foreign Ministers Meeting of GCC held in Jeddah on 2 September 2008. Four meetings were held until now pursuant to the Mechanism. The meetings are alternately held in Turkey and in the country of GCC Term Chairman. The last meeting was held in Turkey on 26-28 January 2012.

In Riyadh Meeting the sides will discuss developing relations of Turkey with the Gulf countries, and assess common challenges, regional developments and prospective cooperation areas.

On the occasion of this meeting, Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will be received by H.M. Selman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and meet with H.E. Abdul Latif Bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the GCC as well as ministers of foreign affairs of member states.
