On August 5, 2014, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu received Mr. Tarek Mitri Special Representative of UN Secretary-General for Libya and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

During the meeting were developments in Libya were addressed, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu and Special Representative Mitri expressed their concern over the incidents of violence in Libya.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu and Special Representative Mitri stated that they welcome the House of Representatives elections held on 25 June 2014 and the first meeting of the House of Representatives.
