On August 6, 2014, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu received Mr. Hasan Turan, Chairman of Kirkuk Provincial Council.

During the meeting, recent developments in the region and their negative effects particularly on Turkmens were discussed.

Confirming that Turkey will always stand by Turkmens, Foreign minister Davutoğlu emphasized the importance of the unity of Turkmens in these hard times Iraq is going through.
