Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is paying a visit to Republic of South Korea in order to attend the 5th Foreign Ministerial visit of the MIKTA Initiative on 21-22 May 2015.

Within the framework of his visit, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu attended a dinner hosted by South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and then met with his Australian counterpart Julie Bishop and Mexican counterpart Jose Antonio Meade Kuribrena.

In the meeting, emphasizing that the first step in combatting terrorism is eliminating its root causes, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey imposed entry ban to 13.500 people and deported around 1350 people. Minister Bishop stated that they are pleased with the measures taken by Turkey on this matter.

In Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu’s meeting with Mexican Foreign Minister, apart from the bilateral relations, growing economic relations with Mexico which witnessed a 20% increase in the last year were reviewed.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu was also received by the President of South Korea, Park Geun-hye.
