Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu represented Turkey in the commemoration ceremony which was held in the Auschwitz-Birkenau Death Camps on 27 January 2015. The delegation accompanying Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu included representatives of the Turkish Jewish Community as well.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Death Camps, Foreign Minister stated that the common aim in attending the ceremony is to commemorate 1 million of innocent people who lost their lives brutally 70 years ago and to convey the message that such incidents do not take place anymore."
