Accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu has paid a visit to TRNC to attend the ceremonies commemorating the 41st anniversary of 20 July Peace and Freedom Day.

President Erdoğan first met with TRNC President Mustafa Akıncı. During the talks bilateral relations and the ongoing negotiation process were discussed.

Speaking at the joint press conference following the meeting, President Erdoğan said that he took great pleasure in being in TRNC at the 41st anniversary of the 20 July 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation. President Erdoğan stated that a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus issue which will guarantee political equality and legitimate rights of the Turkish Cypriots remains Turkey’s priority.

Following his meeting with TRNC President Akıncı, President Erdoğan attended the ceremonies marking the 41st anniversary of the Peace and Freedom Day. President Erdoğan received Sibel Siber, President of TRNC’s Assembly of the Republic.
