Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu met with his Croatian counterpart.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and European Affairs Minister of Croatia, Vesna Pusić, who is paying an official visit to Turkey, on December 19th, 2014.

In the meetings, bilateral relations between the two countries were reviewed in all aspects with a particular focus on economic and trade relations. Turkey’s EU accession process was also evaluated in the meetings and views were exchanged on international issues which are of concern to both countries.

Speaking at the joint press conference held after the meetings, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Croatia is one of the most ardent supporters of Turkey’s EU membership and emphasized Turkey’s constant support to Croatia’s integration process with Euro-Atlantic institutions.

Stating that bilateral trade volume is approximately 400 million dollars, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said that both countries make intensive efforts to enhance trade volume and Turkish firms that make investments in Croatia are always supported by the Croatian authorities.

Guest Foreign Minister stated that developing bilateral relations with Turkey in every field is very important for Croatia and expressed that Croatia will continue to support Turkey’s EU accession.
