Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu paid an official visit to the Republic Moldova on 2 April 2015 upon the invitation of Natalia Gherman, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova.

At the meeting, Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and his Moldovan counterpart discussed recent developments in different areas of bilateral relations as well as important regional and international issues. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu and his Moldovan counterpart also visited the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia to have talks with our kinsmen and their leaders.

Speaking at the joint press conference held following the meeting at which bilateral trade relations were also discussed, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined the importance of enhancing the trade volume from its current 530 million Dollar level upto 1 billion Dollars. Foreign Minister also reiterated Turkey's support for Moldova's territorial integrity.

Moldovan Foreign Minister Natalie Gherman on the other hand, said Turkey is a significant political and economic partner of Moldova and that they wanted to develop the ties between the two countries and establish a multidimensional dialogue.
