Within the framework of regular high level visits between Turkey and Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, is paying an official visit to Azerbaijan on 25-26 February 2015.

In the meetings, the issues on the agenda of Turkey-Azerbaijan relations as well as regional and international developments, with special emphasis on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are being discussed.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğu was first received by the President Aliyev and then met with his counterpart Elmar Memmedyarov. Speaking at the joint press conference held following the meetings, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu reminded that the visit has taken place in the anniversary of Hodjali Massacre, and commemorated the martyrs.

Reminding the words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, “happiness of Azerbaijan is our happiness, her sorrow is our own”, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said “Mr. Aliyev too used the definition: one nation, two states” we aim to further strengthen our relations on these principles.”

Emphasizing that Turkey and Azerbaijan work together in several important projects such as TANAP and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu reminded that Turkey invited Azerbaijan to the G-20 Summit as the chairman of the G-20 and stated his belief that Azerbaijan will make an important contribution to the meeting.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Prime Minister Rasizade and Speaker of the Parliament Esedov.
