Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu attended Asia Cooperation Dialogue’s Ministerial meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who is currently in New York for the UN General Assembly, attended Asia Cooperation Dialogue’s (ACD) Ministerial meeting on 22 September 2014.

During the meeting which was hosted by ACD’s President Saudi Arabia, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu addressed the Foreign Ministers and stated that Turkey always supports further development of dialogue in the region.

Touching upon the increasing importance of Asia in the World economy, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu declared that there is a great potential for energy cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in this field. Underlining that energy security is one of the main objectives of Turkey’s energy strategy, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey attributes great importance to the to the implementation of ACD Energy Action Plan for its own energy security.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also emphasized that Turkey has become the 7th largest country attracting tourists and stated that Turkey is ready and willing to share its experience with ACD countries, regarding the high service standard it has attained in this sector.
