Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Erdoğan who paid an official visit to France on 5 January 2018.

President Erdoğan was welcomed by President Emmanuel Macron of France at the Élysée Palace with an official ceremony.

President Erdoğan and his French counterpart co-chaired the meeting between the delegations, during which bilateral, regional as well as international developments were discussed.

Following the meeting, President Erdoğan and President Macron held a joint press conference.

Within the margins of the visit, various agreements to further strengthen bilateral cooperation were signed.

President Erdoğan met with MEDEF, the French Business Confederation members.

Subsequently, President Erdoğan received Stéphane Testé, member of the French National Assembly and head of the France-Turkey Friendship Group, head of the Senate of Turkish Friendship Group, as well as Rachida Dati, Former French Minister of Justice and Member of the European Parliament at the residence of Paris Embassy. President Erdoğan also received delegations of the Islamic Council of France, Turkish Community in France, and members of the Ottoman dynasty, who live in France.
