During his visit to New York to attend the 72nd UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu participated in the Global Counter Terrorism Ministerial Meeting on 20 September 2017. At the meeting, "Antalya Memorandum” regarding new ways and measures on the protection of soft targets from terrorist attacks was adopted.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also attended the Trilateral Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Iraq and Iran. Regional developments were discussed at the meeting.

Minister Çavuşoğlu held bilateral talks with Foreign Minister Freeland of Canada, Foreign Minister Alfano of Italy and EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Stylianides the same day.

Hosted by the Turkish Heritage Organization, Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with the representatives of the US NGOs and gave information on Turkish foreign policy.
