Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Erdoğan during his visit to Kyrgyzstan, 1-3 September 2018

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Erdoğan who paid an official visit to Kyrgyzstan on September 1-3, 2018 to attend the Turkic Council 6th Summit Meeting.

On September 1, Saturday, President Erdoğan was welcomed with an official ceremony at Bishkek Manas International Airport by President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and his spouse Aygül Jeenbekov.

At the 4th Meeting of Turkey-Kyrgyzstan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council co-chaired by President Erdoğan and President Jeenbekov, combating terrorist organization FETO and other issues on Turkey-Kyrgyzstan common agenda at the highest level were discussed.

On the same day, agreements in various fields were signed between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. The said agreements constitute the common will to further and deepen the cooperation between the two countries.

On September 2, Sunday, President Erdoğan attended Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum together with President Jeenbekov.

Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the Foreign Ministers Meeting of the Turkic Council. The latest preparations and agenda items of the 6th Summit that was held on September 3, Monday, were reviewed at the meeting.

President Erdoğan was presented with an honorary doctorate degree by Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University at the ceremony where President Jeenbekov also attended.

At the ongoing visit to Kyrgzystan, the Turkish delegation, headed by President Erdoğan, paid a visit to the Ata Beyit memorial complex and the graves of Kyrgyz author Chingiz Aitmatov and martyrs of April 7th.

On the same day, President Erdoğan received Prime Minister Mukhammedkaliy Abylgaziyev and Parliament Speaker Dastanbek Zhumabekov of Kyrgyzstan.

Following the official dinner hosted by President Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan in honor of participating heads of state and government, President Erdoğan attended the opening ceremony of the Third World Nomad Games.

On September 3, Monday, President Erdoğan attended the 6th Summit Meeting of the Turkic Council that was hosted by President Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan. Addressing the Summit, President Erdoğan underlined the importance of cooperation against terrorist organizations including FETO; and also suggested the option of trade with national currencies to break the dependency on USD in international trade.
