Foreign Minister Zarif of Iran paid a visit to Ankara on 7 June 2017 to have an exchange of views on regional issues, firstly Syria and also bilateral relations.

Zarif was first received by President Erdoğan.

At the talks headed by Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu and Zarif during iftar, regional issues, in particular Syria were discussed. Bilateral relations were reviewed and in this context preperations of the High Level Cooperation Council meeting to be held in the period ahead were discussed.
