Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu hosted Foreign Minister Carlos Raul Morales of Guatemala in Ankara on 19 April 2017.

The visit constituted the first Foreign Minister level visit from Guatemala to Turkey and was planned ahead of the Turkey-Central American Integration System (SICA) Second Foreign Ministers Forum and Turkey- the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Quartet Fourth Foreign Ministers Meeting to be held in Istanbul on 20 and 21 April 2017 respectively.

Turkey-Guatemala relations and regional developments were discussed at the bilateral meeting between Minister Çavuşoğlu and Minister Morales.

Afterwards delegations came together to exchange views on bilateral relations and current issues.

During the visit Agreement on Air Services was signed.

Two Ministers then held a joint press conference and replied the questions of press members.

During the visit, Minister Çavuşoğlu and Minister Morales officially opened the Embassy of Guatemala in Ankara.
