Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız attended the Dubrovnik Forum which was held on the theme of “Strengthening Europe: Connecting North and South” on 25-26 August 2016 in Dubrovnik.
Speaking at the session on “Geopolitical Challenges” Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Yıldız gave information about the coup attempt and latest developments. Referring to Turkey’s contributions for solution regarding Syria and migration crisis, he stressed that EU is expected to keep its promises under the agreement between Turkey and the EU. Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Yıldız underlined that Turkey resolutely fights against terrorism in all its forms including DEASH, PKK and FETO. He also said that Turkey could play an important role regarding Europe’s energy security, and that projects such as TANAP are important for Europe’s energy security as well. Furthermore, he stated that, as a coastal state to the Black Sea, Turkey’s participation in the Three Seas Initiative (Baltic Sea, Adriatic Sea, Black Sea) is important.
