In the margins of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız participated in the high-level event hosted by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Sweden, Pakistan and Turkey regarding “Protracted Refugee Situations-What More Can Be Done?” on 19 September 2016.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Yıldız met with Ulrik Vestergaard Knudsen, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, on 19 September. Bilateral relations, developments in Syria and Turkey’s EU accession negotiations process were discussed in the meeting.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Yıldız met with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon (UNSCOL) Sigrid Kaag on 20 September, and attended the high-level meeting regarding Somalia which was hosted by Somalia, Ethiopia, Italy and the UK on 21 September.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Yıldız participated in the meeting hosted by Foreign Ministers of the Netherlands and Italy regarding “Aleppo through the Eyes of its Heroic Citizens” on 22 September, and the meeting on “Implementation of the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in Mali” on 23 September.
