The 17th Session of the D-8 Council was held in Istanbul on 19 October 2017.

At the outset of the Session, Pakistan handed over the chairmanship of the D-8 Council to Turkey.

During the 17th Session of the D-8 Council presided by Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, member states focused on the theme “Expanding Opportunities through Cooperation”.

Within the margins of the Session, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu and State Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Shahriar Alam of Bangladesh had a bilateral meeting and discussed the situation of Rohingya Muslims.
