Commemoration Held at Martyrs' Cemetery of the Foreign Ministry on 18 March Martyrs' Day

Our diplomats, staff and their family members who were martyred by terrorist organizations, while representing Turkey abroad, were remembered at the ceremony held at Martyrs' Cemetery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey in Cebeci, Ankara on 18 March Martyrs' Day.

40 members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been martyred by terrorist organizations such as “Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia” (ASALA), “Justice Commandos of Armenian Genocide” (JCAG), “Armenian Revolutionary Army” (ARA) and “17 November”.

The commemoration ceremony attended by the esteemed relatives of our martyrs, members of our Ministry, retired Ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic corps and our citizens started with a moment of silence, followed by the address of Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız.

After the prayer, wreathes were laid on behalf of the President, Speaker of the Parliament, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spouses Solidarity Association, Retired Ambassadors, and Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM).

The ceremony ended by extending sympathies to martyrs' relatives and visiting the graves of our martyrs.

On 18 March Martyrs' Day, we remember once again with respect and gratitude all our martyrs and our martyred diplomats.
